3 Ways to Get More Reviews for Your Remodeling Business

Get More ReviewsSuccessful Business owners know that their next customer will often come as a referral from an existing customer. With an excellent product and customer service, it is easy for this source of new business to grow and thrive.

Today over 87% of US adults are internet users and two things have changed.

  • Reviews of businesses are increasingly being posted online
  • People are researching businesses referred to them online

The problem is that it is inevitable that despite a business owners’ best efforts there may be a few customers who are not 100% satisfied. If the search results for a business show negative reviews you may lose prospective referrals.

3 ways to ensure a great online reputation and get more reviews

  • Build a robust web presence which is more than just your website. When a potential customer searches for you across any channel, they can find you. We recommend along with your website you ensure you have a social media presence, claim you business in local directories and niche networks like Houzz, Yelp, etc.
  • Have a plan in place to monitor your reviews and mentions of your business and respond quickly. Even if you have a negative review, people seeing the business respond will have a positive feeling towards the business.
  • Ask for reviews from all customers, the more reviews you get the higher chances that your positive reviews will outweigh your negative reviews.

Island Designs on Houzz

Friday adventures at work usually include creating the weekend social plan and searching for any new trends, products or Wellborn Cabinet projects on Houzz. There’s a lot of gorgeous designs out there, if you have designed any projects with Wellborn Cabinet make sure that you mention that in your description and keywords when you upload on Houzz, we would love to share your work!

Today on Houzz my main goal was to find as many unique islands designed with Wellborn Cabinet as I could within a reasonable time frame (of course) I mean really how long could a person actually stay on Houzz?

Now matter how unique or beautiful an island is – if it doesn’t serve the purpose for which it was designed it can be an eye sore or just in the way.

Several things to consider before designing a space with an island:
1. Is this your first island? Will this island create a new traffic pattern in your kitchen? Will that change be comfortable and convenient for the users of the space? (Maybe your designer can mark off the floor with tape to illustrate your new traffic patterns – just so you can visualize the space better.)

2. What activities will you use your island for?
*prepping, cooking, cleanup and gathering spot
*do you need water or power for hand-held appliances or for built-in appliances?
*do you need a seating area?
*Your activities can dictate the overall dimensions of the island – Will you need different heights at your island?

3. Storage
The island is a wonderful space to claim extra storage for your kitchen, a place just the children’s snacks or a great place to store items for guests – – easy access & easy to find.

These are a few of the things to think about and consider before adding an island to your kitchen design.

We hope you enjoy our island selections from Houzz.

Wellborn Cabinetry in the Houzz

Not sure if my Houzz Addiction has reached the “Pinterest Level” but it’s pretty close….. One of the most enticing aspects of Houzz is how beneficial of a marketing tool it is for our industry and our dealers. More and more of our dealers share with us how actual leads are generated from the site, and that’s refreshing news for us all to hear.

So here’s our salute to a few traditional projects that caught my eye this week.

Enjoy.

Houzz Call – Modern Day Farmhouse

This Modern Kitchen by Synergy Design & Construction featuring Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. is a modern masterpiece!

Everyday more and more of our dealers are discovering Houzz and how easy it is to share their projects with the world. We enjoy seeing our cabinetry being used in such beautiful spaces and in ways we didn’t even consider – that’s the beauty of being a designer – So enjoy our Latest Houzz Call – You Rock Synergy Design & Construction!

For the renovated kitchen and family room, the clients wanted a rustic contemporary style, mixing vintage inspired materials with classic clean lines — as a result, we created a “Modern-day Farmhouse” look for them. The remodeled space includes new hardwood flooring, cabinetry, appliances, granite countertops, tile backsplash, plumbing and lighting fixtures, custom built-ins, and custom ceiling details. We removed the dividing half-walls between the kitchen and family room to open up the spaces and allow for a larger island with seating in the new layout.

Tools To Help You Discover Your Style

One of the most challenging tasks when planning a kitchen or bath is deciding your actual style. With all the different media outlets – online, print and television such as (Houzz, Pinterest, Southern Living, Coastal Living, HGTV, DIY, etc.) you can quickly become confused about what you truly want for your home.

In the past a physical scrapbook or project notebook was the way you could share with your designer, builder or contractor your ideas to help them understand your wants and needs  – while this practice is still the norm – the majority of people have moved their project notebooks online in some format to be shared digitally to all involved in your project.

So let’s explore some of the tools that you can use to collect, display and share your style!

1. We offer My Scrapbook on our website – The scrapbook allows you to keep product ideas in a central location, and organize your thoughts, and send them on to your Wellborn Cabinet Dealer.

2. The Inspire App is a great way to quickly and simply organize your style and bring in your own elements then share with your Wellborn Dealer or Designer.

3. Pinterest  Need I say more! If you have never seen or used Pinterest beware it can be habit-forming….. from food to fitness….. design to diet …… it has everything. It is an excellent tool to help you learn your style and categorize your design needs and wants.

4. Houzz is currently the #1 platform for all things residential; new construction, remodeling and decorating  – interior and exterior of the home. A great tool to organize your style & also a great place to find the professionals to make your  dreams come to life!

Houzz Call – Cabinetry Creations with Wellborn Cabinet

Houzz is an excellent tool for our industry – a wonderful place to showcase your work and gather potential leads & share your customer reviews.

I love to share some of the Wellborn Cabinet Creations I find as I review the site weekly. This week I just had to share a kitchen designed by Cecile Cote – a precious design featuring our Hanover Maple Door Style finished in Glacier White. Even though the color scheme is basically all white – there is a softness about the space  – maybe the open cabinets, maybe the soft colors of the decor or the warm toned wood flooring – whatever it is  – it’s inviting and simply perfect.
