Our American-made cabinets are proudly manufactured in Ashland, Alabama. The entire Wellborn family takes great pride in manufacturing high-quality cabinets. Our kitchen and bath cabinets, including doors, drawers, and face frames, are all handcrafted in the United States.

Our Process

Semi-custom cabinetry from Wellborn Cabinet is made in Ashland, Alabama. We are one of the few cabinetry companies that is still vertically integrated today. From the time a tree arrives at our sawmill, Wellborn controls the quality of the wood used in our cabinetry. The tree is then cut into boards and dried in our kilns. Once dry, they are transferred to the chop saws, where the wood is hand-inspected to ensure that it meets our exacting standards; only the finest parts of these wood boards are used to make cabinetry. Each cabinet is made to order, whether it is a standard cabinet, a semi-custom storage cabinet, or a You Draw It cabinet.

The front and edges of the face frames are hand sanded. To create a smooth protective surface, the inside is hand-sanded and hand-rubbed.

Doors, drawer fronts, and face frames are hand-sanded, front and back, to eliminate cross-grain scratches and burley marks.

After the color stain is high pressure sprayed, the surfaces are hand rubbed to enhance the wood grain characteristics.
