2014 Features to show up in Homes
Small Spaces can pack a punch with the correct design attention. The television area offers plenty of storage with upper cabinetry and lower drawer bases without taking away from the beauty of the design. Wainscoting adds architectural character and space division and depth to a narrow living space without you even know its happening. Rethinking every corner in your space… Instead of letting the space go to waste – add bookcases, storage and a desk area to turn a dull corner into a productive quaint area in the home.

Media Centers and Gathering Spaces are evolving with Technology – no longer do you have to gather around the television in a central location to watch your favorite show……you can access television shows, movies, videos, etc. anywhere in your home depending upon what you have equipped your home with from cable, satellite and wireless internet…… While these advancements are pretty phenomenal this is changing how we interact with our family and even socialize with guests.
When designing these spaces it’s important to take into consideration the old and new for a collective balance of technology for all to enjoy.
A central located television is still a wonderful way to enjoy your favorite shows or movies together on the weekend when you finally have time to sit down and take a break.
Provide adequate seating for the media center but also provide seating & surfaces for other tasks on laptops, tablets, etc. So all can still be in a central location and you are able to still be close to each other.
When Space is precious and every inch counts design spaces that can serve several functions for all in your home.
Entertaining, Working and Storage have all been covered with ease in this space.
Embrace technology and the convenience that it can bring but remember what is truly important and that’s time with family and friends!
Every attendee that came into our booth at KBIS went straight for the big, bright doors on our baking set – it’s like our designer Karen Salyer could read minds at this years KBIS show. People wanted to see something different but they also wanted something that felt authentic, nostalgic……. a relatable design….. or maybe they just wanted to feel excitement about something they already loved… baking…..
I personally love good design and with good design in a kitchen – a cook can do wonders – your steps become almost that of a perfectly choreographed dance and you are the star – with your extras (interior accessories planned perfectly) stealing the spotlight only for a few seconds here or there…. but in the Wellborn booth this year – Antigua was the star.
An eye-catching exterior that beckons you to the beach or our booth – the Antigua door style is a lovely faux louver style door but with Antigua there’s no faux style – it’s all real!
The Little Drawer That Could: A single drawer can do multiple tasks – from storage to prep work (cutting board) you don’t skimp on ingredients so don’t skimp on your space.
